I used to say that I’d play Fantasy Football because it made watching games more fun because there were more things to cheer about. But after all my frustrations with play calling this past NFL season — despite winning the championship in one league and finishing 3rd in another — I’ve concluded that I was dead wrong.
Since my championship-winning team won two weeks ago and I had given up on my team that was playing for 3rd place today, this was the first week all year where I was able to watch the NFL games without giving a shit about who exactly scored every single touchdown.
It was so much more fun being able to just watch and enjoy the amazing games instead of getting pissed off because the Lions failed to score a TD inside the 5-yard line and didn’t attempt a single fade to Calvin Johnson. I just watched the games and enjoyed the quality football while switching back and forth between the Colts/Titans and Giants/Redskins — and later watching the NFC West Championship between the Seahawks and Rams. I may never play Fantasy Football again (if I’m smart).
