My psychiatric adventures

So tell us about your psychiatric adventures. Why did you seek therapy, what treatment was performed, how effective was it, and are you still seeking help? --Bluebeard.

I've been forced to seek the help of a shrink on three different occasions in my life. The first time, I had to go because I developed this odd little problem of constantly spanking my own ass in public. I'd start doing it without even knowing it -- it was usually just a slap or two. I did it once when a cop pulled me over for speeding and had me doing a sobriety test and he thought I was mocking him so he took me in.

They eventually got a shrink to see me and according to her I had some sort of sick and twisted S&M fantasy that wasn't being fueled, so I would just spank my ass without knowing it. That's not true...and I was able to stop the spanking my ass problem just by thinking about it. I'll actually do it once in a while right now, but I'll usually stop it after no more than one slaps.

The next time, it was after a friend of mine died in a car accident while driving my car. I felt responsible and it took me a really long time to get over. The shrink didn't really do much to help me, but didn't hurt.

The most recent time, I just went to a shrink for the fun of it. I'd make up all these crazy stories and bullshit and that's when this psychiatrist lady said the quote that was on my front page before...something like, "You're not the crazy one, it's all the people around you." Fun stuff, but I think shrinks are about as helpful as the psychic hotlines. Now that I think about it, my last shrink might have been Miss Cleo.

Buying IGN?

Hey, is there any chance we'll get a definitive answer about you buying IGN.  Cuz I honestly think it was an April fools joke......especially considering it just so happened that the master Dave Z happened to swallow IGN on April 1 of all days.  anyway, great site, keep it up!

-John

Dear John,

Yes, I did buy IGN. But I actually sold it back after a few days because I didn't see it as something that was going to help get me the ladies. Sure, it would've been great if I was into 13-year-old boys, but I'm sadly not that kind of a guy. By the way, I sold it to this Catholic priest...

NFL2K3 revealed!!!

Will it have classic teams ? That is the only thing that keeps it from being without a doubt better than Madden.

I can't say anything about the game that isn't already officially announced... I think you'll be pleased with our final product, though. ;)

More NFL2K3 not revealed!

Hey Dave!

I fuckin' love your site, no one provides more BOOTYlicous pics of babes. Anyways, I had a few questions regarding NFL 2K3.

Will Randy "big pussy" Moss still be the poster boy?

Will the game feature sliders ala Madden? (the INT's were waaaaaay to unrealistic)

Will there be better player models this year? (Madden 2002 player models were amazing, you gotta beef-up the eye candy)

And will you under-rate rookies AGAIN? (Just like every other football game)

Thanks.

Kevin F.

P.S. Because of your site, I broke out the old Saturn and have been playing it non-stop!!!

Dear Kevin,

Have fun with the Saturn, I'm thinking about breaking out my Saturn and playing me some Radiant Silvergun this weekend.

As for NFL2K3, I can't say anything. But, again, I think you and everyone else will be extremely happy with what we're doing with the game.

The Cube in Auckland

Hey Dave,

The Nintendo GameCube featured as one of the main attractions at the Armageddon Expo in Auckland during the weekend, and my point is, it looks like a piece of crap. Sorry if that offends you, I know you have one, but the graphics look like pc games and the console isn't actually a perfect cube either, the height is not the same as the length/width. Well it was a good expo anyway, lots of ps2 stuff and actors from Star Wars.

Anyway, I think Nintendo doesn't really have a clue what they're doing cos the controller looks like a happy-meal toy. Is the GameCube aimed at younger gamers?

Oh yeah, a lot of people called Tom write to your letters section too. That's weird.

Catch you later,

Tom

Dear yet another Tom,

Nothing offends me. Nintendo actually does have a clue, though...the company has aimed the GameCube for the younger gamer and pretty much has that demographic locked up. The GameCube will never pass the PS2 in overall sales, in my opinion, but it'll probably make Nintendo some money and that's really all that matters in the end. And even if it doesn't, they'll make it back up with the GBA.
