New "Dear Dave" submissions --
The male penis is once again talked about in today's update of my "Dear Dave" section. I hope this doesn't continue to be a trend because people my start talking...especially since I'm a Frisco-boy. What people say doesn't really matter, though, unless of course the people that's talking is me. If you believe that, then you'll want to read all of my new responses and your letters in this update of "Dear Dave"

Reviews on the way --
I've gone ahead and setup some basic guidelines for the Reviews I plan to post on the site. You can head over to the Reviews section for the full details, but here's the gist of it -- the reviews will be short (and hopefully sweet) and the games will be scored on a very simple and straightforward 5-star scale with no half stars.

Britney's Dance Beat Impressions --
My boy Sam Bishop was able to get his hands on an early copy of Britney's Dance Beat from THQ, so I was provided with the opportunity to give one of my most highly anticipated PS2 games of 2002 a spin today.  Much to my amazement, Britney's Dance Beat has turned out to be highly enjoyable and a wee bit on the addictive side.

The game is essentially a evolution of the Bust-a-Groove series with some tweaks and a full-on Britney Spears theme. The basic gameplay has you pressing one of the face buttons or a direction on the d-pad to coincide with what's presented onscreen as you get to play as one of six dancers, three sexy gals and three flaming dudes, who each have the goal of making it onto Britney's tour. It starts you off with very simple button presses and progresses to more complicated routines that have you pressing combinations of face buttons and directional pad movements.

While it is pretty much just another typical music game, it's been put together quite well. The characters each have different attack types that will do things like change their opponent's cursor's or mix things up a bit and the progression from the easy beginning stages to the more difficult ending stages is very nice.

My only real complaint about the game is that it's somewhat limited in that there are only a total of five songs to play -- ...Baby One More Time, Oops...I Did It Again!, Stronger, Overprotected, and I'm A Slave 4 U. Even for those that actually like Britney's music, like myself, that's just not all that much to keep you going for a long time.

Although it would've been nice to have a few more of Brit's songs, it's not like the game isn't lacking in extra features as there's a lot here for fans of the Louisiana native to check out. By earning points while making it through the 10 levels of audition for each of the game's characters, you get to unlock these cool extras in the form of six behind-the-scenes videos and these five interactive concert videos that let you move around the camera and even zoom in a little on the action. The videos are definitely on the grainy and pixilated side and the concert zoom feature isn't nearly as cool as it could've been, but the game's goods are all worth checking out nevertheless.

If you simply can't stand Britney's music you're obviously not going to like this game because a lot of what makes music games good comes down to whether or not you like what you're listening to. But if you're either indifferent to it or are actually a fan like myself, Britney's Dance Beat is definitely something that I'd recommend adding to your PS2 software library.

My DVD collection --

I don't have anything of real interest to share with you, but I want to update a little more regularly, so here's a look at my full DVD collection. I actually have 2 more DVDs than what's listed there, but DVDAficionado.com doesn't yet have Virtual Sex With Jenna Jameson or Jessica Simpson Dream Chaser in their database.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, those Virtual Sex DVDs are lame and completely worthless crap. The only thing it has going for it is the CG Star Wars-inspired cum.

2nd Dan and counting... --
I've gotten my Pai up to 2nd Dan in Virtua Fighter 4, but my progress has stopped because stupid Anthony Chau figured out that I stole his copy of the game, so I had to give it back to him. What's his fucking problem?

If you own a PS2 and want the deepest fighting game around, you owe it to yourself to pick up this game. It's the best VF yet and in my personal opinion, the best console fighting game of all time. If you're new to the series, just please be patient with it because it's not as easy to pick up and play as something like Tekken -- however, it's about 100 times more rewarding once you get into it.

Dead tired --
It's about 8:30 PM here and I just got home from work for the first time since Tuesday morning at 7:30 AM. It was a busy 36 hours of almost non-stop NFL 2K3-making goodness (I passed out for about 3 hours between 9 AM and noon on my hard ass floor in my office). I'm going to sleep now. Night, night.

Superman would tear her apart, she should just settle for me.

Dave's Babe of the Week! --
My babe for the week that is ending today is the extremely cute 19 year old actress, Kristin Kreuk, who stars in Smallville as Clark's love interest Lana Lane. One look at her and you'll see exactly why Superman is smitten with her at the moment. But since we all already know that Superman will eventually fall in love with Louis, us non-super hero guys should have a fair shot with her.  Okay, enough already. Check out my new Babe of the Week.

"Dear Dave" updated --
This update is large and in charge. Kind of like Charles. Ah, whatever happened to all the great TV shows? Anyway, my update today is going to help change your lives. After reading my answers, you'll undoubtedly get laid more, your intelligence will grow substantially, and your penis will be at least 2-3 inches larger than it was. Go read yourself some some "Dear Dave" and allow me to learn you.

Exclusive First Look: NFL2K3 Box Art! --
Some of you have sent in requests for more videogame information, but I haven't really been able to help out on that end because I've been pretty much out of the loop since starting with ole VC. The sad truth is that the only game other than NFL 2K3 that I've played since leaving IGNPS2 has been Virtua Fighter 4 (GO BUY IT NOW, btw).

But I love you guys and will go out of my way to please each and every one of you whenever possible. So, I've begged and pleaded and have finally received an okay from the higher ups at VC to give you an exclusive first look at the upcoming box art for NFL 2K3 on PS2. Yes, that's right. You're getting this before the editors of IGN, Gamespot, EGM, PSM, Official PlayStation Magazine, GamePro, Game Informer, and every other major publication that covers games. Why? Because I love you.

The debut of the Photo Gallery --
You've seen it on the navigation bar, but until today it has been nothing but a link to a useless page. That all changes today, as the Photo Gallery has been launched with a batch of photos from a party last night here in San Francisco that was hosted by Majesco.

It was the second of two fantastic parties that I attended last night, with the first being one thrown by LucasArts, but the only one that I was able to get photos from (my flatmate -- Sam PSX2.com Bishop -- is the man responsible for the photos).

I'd kill to be that jacket...

Dave's Babe of Last Week! --
Since I'm stuck at home this morning just watching ESPN in my dirty and slightly torn red boxer briefs (I'm waiting on the mechanics to do a simple oil change and checkup for my car), I decided that I should go ahead and put up last week's Babe of the Week

Last week's babe is none other than the crazy beautiful and drop dead gorgeous Kirsten Dunst. So, if you're looking for some nipple-licous photos of this fine lass, then bring it on! I mean, just click on over to Dave's Babe of Last Week

15 days of nothing  --
It has been brought to my attention that I haven't updated my site in 15 days. Well, I'm sorry. My workload at VC has picked up a bit, I'm now working on a 7 day work week and got to sleep at the old office for the first time last Thursday night. And since I didn't want to cut back on my sleeping or partying, the Website has suffered a bit.

Anyway, I'm going to make an effort to update on a more regular basis regardless of my workload at VC. It's not like this stuff really takes all that much time to do. As you can see, I've finally delivered last week's babe and should have a new babe for you to drool over this Thursday or Friday.

X-Tina can be damn fine at times.

Dave's Babe of the Week! --
Even though I don't like the way she looked at the Grammy's and hate her new style, I've chosen Christina Aguilera as the featured girl in this week's Dave's Babe of the Week

Underneath all that makeup and bad hair is an extremely sexy young lady who has seen many a starring role in my sex fantasies. The girl can actually sing, too, which is a rare quality in most of today's young (she's no longer a teen) pop stars.

But, to be honest, her talent as a vocalist isn't what has made her Dave's Babe of the Week

Getting old... --
Come March 5, 2002, yours truly will be 29 years of age. Damn, I'm quickly becoming an old fart and am definitely a bit on the Stone Age side for being a gamer. At least I'm not thirty yet...

"Dear Dave" updated --
It's a smallish update because people are quickly finding out that my advice is pretty worthless. Still, the Dear Dave has been updated with a new batch of your letters and my sometimes silly and sometimes insightful responses. Check it out!
