I finally bought a guitar! I’ve been saying I wanted to try learning to play guitar for years but have never pulled the strings on actually getting one. Since I work with so many musicians at Play Hard, I figured this would be about as good of a time as any to try and follow through on this desire. I placed the order last week for a Yamaha FG730S Solid Top Acoustic Guitar and it arrived at the office, making it Christmas in October for yours truly.
I’m mainly just messing around with it tonight, just practicing a couple of chords, but will be picking up some picks, a strap, a case, and maybe some instructional books tomorrow on my lunch break. Anyway, since I figured I share of photo of my new baby, I thought it’d be nice to take a couple quickies of the new corner sofa I got from Ikea a little while back plus my entire living room in the new apartment in Brookline, MA. Oh, by the way, I haven’t forgotten about the lateness of the Babe of the Week, I’ll be posting a pair of new girls tomorrow to catch up on things.

I remember seeing flyers/postings everywhere in the city, with music students offering cheap lessons. You should check into that! One of my roommates played bass and I messed around enough to buy my own, but I never progressed much on my own. Part of it is bass is more rhythmic, and I found parts were generally really boring or really difficult, but I’m sure another part of it was (lack of) self-discipline.
The pics had me curious – do you have a Wii? I’ve always loved hockey games and have heard mixed reviews of 2K’s effort, though I’m aching for a fix and not sure if it’s worth it. The movie store here literally has like 5 wii games, else I’d rent it. It sucks.

A bunch of friends at work are in bands, so I’ll be using them a lot to teach me. However, for the time being it’s just teaching my fingers how to not suck and not hurt so much when holding the strings.
Yes, I have a Wii. The mixed reviews probably tell the story. Go ahead and pick it up, but know that next year’s will probably be much better given that they’ll actually have a full dev cycle on it.

Dude looks like you know you shit, that living room is pretty legit if i can see right the pic is kinda small but that looks like a sony XBR 4 tv which is def a most baller tv as well as some pretty pimp tower speaker your living room most be rocking. You should get chicks based on that alone.

Yeah, it’s the XBR4. It’s just 40 inches, which is fine for the most part, but I think I may get a bigger Sony XBR for the living room and put this one in the bedroom. I hear the HDTV prices are dropping like crazy right after Thanksgiving so maybe it’ll be a Christmas gift for myself.
