My good friend and former 2K co-worker, Abe Navarro, lent me this book to read a while back, titled Lone Survivor, and I finally got around to finishing it today. Wow. The story just blew me away and I was fighting off tears while reading most of the final chapter. It’s the eyewitness account by Leading Petty Officer Marcus Luttrell who was the lone survivor of SEAL Team 10’s Operation Redwing in Afghanistan. The level of heroism and courage displayed by himself and his fellow soldiers in fighting for the United States of America and for our freedom and safety has left me in complete awe.

I am forever thankful for him and for others like him that serve proudly in the United States military who put their lives on the line so that people like me can have the freedom to do things like make videogames for a living and go through life worrying about things as simple and carefree as trying to bone hot chicks. If you haven’t already read it and are looking for a good read that will undoubtedly inspire you, I highly suggest going out and buying a copy today.
